Number Match
Number Match takes the basic idea of pairing numbers and turns it into a genuinely tricky little puzzle. You're looking at a grid full of digits, and your job is to clear every one of them off the board. Two rules let you remove a pair: either the numbers are identical, or they add up to ten. That sounds simple until you notice the catch — the two numbers you pick have to be next to each other, and "next to" includes straight lines across empty gaps left by numbers you've already cleared, in any direction (up, down, sideways, or diagonal), as long as nothing else sits between them. That single rule is what gives the game its depth: clearing one pair can open up or close off a dozen other possibilities, so the board keeps rearranging the puzzle in front of you. When you're genuinely stuck, a lightbulb icon points out a valid move so you're never permanently locked out, and if the board runs dry of options entirely it refreshes with new numbers so play can continue. Making a match
- Click (or tap) one number, then click a second number to try to pair them.
- A pair works if the two numbers are identical, or if they add up to 10.
- The two numbers must line up with nothing else in between — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Gaps left by cleared tiles count as open space, so you can match straight through them.
Getting unstuck
- If you can't find a move, tap the lightbulb icon and it will highlight a pair you can actually clear.
- If the whole board has no valid pairs left, new numbers are added automatically so you can keep going.
Tips and strategy
Before you click anything, scan the rows and columns for numbers that sum to 10 rather than only looking for twins — those pairs are easy to miss since the numbers look different. Clear pairs sitting in the middle of a cluttered row first; removing them often opens up long, clean lines that let you chain several more matches right after. Try to save the hint button for moments when you're truly out of ideas rather than using it on your first pause, since spotting the move yourself is most of the appeal. When several matches are available, prioritize ones that thin out crowded areas of the board over ones in already-open space, since that keeps more of the grid workable for later.
