Free to play
In short: play anything, as often as you like, without paying and without registering.
You get a personal, non-exclusive, revocable permission to play the games on this site for your own enjoyment. That permission does not include copying the games, embedding them on another site, reselling access to them, or using them commercially. Your own internet and data costs are yours.
Age
In short: the games suit all ages. There is nothing here that requires one.
There is no chat, no messaging between players, no profiles and nothing to sign up for, which is why we do not set an age limit and do not ask how old you are. If you are under the age at which you can agree to terms where you live, a parent or guardian should read this page instead of you, and they accept it on your behalf.
What you may not do
In short: do not attack the site, scrape it wholesale, or use it to harm anybody.
Specifically: no automated collection of the catalogue, whether for a competing site or to train a model; no attempt to bypass, disable or probe security; no interference with the servers or with other visitors; no uploading of malware; no impersonation of us; no framing or republishing of the site as your own. Any of these ends your permission to use the site immediately.
Who owns what
In short: most games belong to the studios that made them; the site itself is ours.
The games are used under licence from the studios and publishers that made them, and they keep every right in them. The site around the games, meaning its text, layout, artwork and code, belongs to Wordgames. Nothing on this page transfers any of it to you.
If you send us an idea, a suggestion or a bug report, we may act on it without owing you anything for it. We say that plainly because the alternative, quietly claiming ownership of everything anybody ever writes to us, is what most sites do and it is worse.
Games made by other studios
In short: inside a game, that studio's rules and privacy policy apply, not ours.
Most games run inside a frame and are served from the studio's own servers. Their terms govern what happens in there, and where those terms conflict with this page, theirs win for that game. We choose what to carry and we take things down when they turn out to be broken or wrong, but we do not write the games and cannot answer for their content.
If we are hosting your work
In short: tell us which game and how you hold the rights. It comes down while we check, not after.
Use the contact form and include the address of the page, what you own, and enough for us to see that you own it. We take the game offline while we look rather than leaving it up during the argument, because a rights holder waiting for a decision is worse off than we are without one game.
What we do not promise
In short: the site is provided as it is. Games come and go.
We do not promise that every game works in every browser, that the site is always available, that a game you liked will still be here next month, or that progress saved in your browser survives clearing your data or changing device. Licences end, technologies stop being supported, and studios withdraw titles. When that happens the game goes, and there is nothing we can do about it.
Liability
In short: we are responsible for our own serious failures, not for everything that could ever follow from a free game.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for anything that happens inside a third party's game. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer in the European Union, none of this removes the rights your own country's law gives you.
Withdrawing access
In short: we can block access if the rules above are being broken.
There is no account to close, so in practice this means blocking traffic that is attacking or scraping the site. We do it to keep the site standing for everybody else, not as a punishment.
Law
In short: Romanian law, and your consumer rights at home are untouched.
Romanian law applies and the Romanian courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the European Union, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, nor your right to bring a claim there.
Changes
In short: when this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
We do not have your address and cannot notify you. The date at the top is the record of when this was last touched, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting it.
