You are given shapes and a board. Place a shape so that it completes a full line and that line clears. There is no clock anywhere, which sounds like it would make the game easy. It does the opposite. Without a timer there is nothing to blame but the placement you chose three moves ago, and the board fills up because of decisions, not because of speed.
How to play Sudoku Blocks
- Three shapes are offered at a time, below the board.
- Drag a shape onto the grid. It has to fit entirely in empty squares.
- Complete a full row or column and it clears, freeing that space.
- New shapes appear once all three have been placed.
- The game ends when none of the offered shapes will fit anywhere.
Shapes cannot be rotated, so the piece you are given is the piece you have to place. That single restriction is what turns an easy looking board into a real puzzle after twenty moves.
Tips and strategy
- Keep the middle clear and build against the edges. A hole in the centre blocks pieces coming from every direction, a hole on the edge blocks them from one.
- Look at all three shapes before placing any of them. The order you place them in matters more than where each one goes.
- Never leave a single empty square. One square gaps can only be filled by one piece shape, and that shape may not arrive.
- Prefer the placement that keeps your options open over the one that clears a line now. A cleared line is worth nothing if the next three pieces have nowhere to go.
- Assume the large square piece is coming. Keeping a three by three area free costs you very little and saves the game roughly one round in four.

Yes, the two names refer to the same game: a nine by nine grid where you place block shapes and clear completed lines.

No. Shapes are placed exactly as they are offered, which is the main constraint the whole game is built around.

No. There is no clock at all, so you can look at the board for as long as you want before placing a piece.
